Impangele Guest House

Impangele lies near the base of the Langeberg mountain range. This guest house is well equipped to cater for every traveller's needs, and has been adapted to provide maximum ease and comfort for any disabled visitors. It offers superb accommodation, furnished in tasteful contemporary African style, and boasts a peaceful indigenous garden, with mountain views. Your hosts, David and Amanda Shackley, will warmly welcome you to their beautiful home in Swellendam, the third oldest town in South Africa.

Rooms in the main house
The en-suite rooms are beautifully furnished in contemporary African style. There is television, the facility to make fresh African coffee and tea, and, when available, tasty home – cooked treats to welcome you.

A special note for the allergy sufferer: all the rooms have either wooden floors or are tiled.

Computer Suite
The computer suite has wireless internet access which guests staying at Impangele can use at no extra cost.

Zebra Room
The quirky fun Zebra room, with its en-suite wet -room, is a lovely bright spacious room, with a very comfortable queen sized bed. This room has been designed to ensure that disabled visitors can enjoy their stay - there is plenty of room for wheelchairs, and the contrasting colour scheme is of benefit to those with visual impairment - and the TV has a large screen too.

Leopard Room
This is a huge room - the spacious environment, beautiful polished oregon pinefloors and gorgeous safari style en-suite shower room all create a unique atmosphere and a touch of African luxury. The room is big enough for a family of four to sleep in comfort - but a couple can luxuriate in the space, and lounge around in the leopard bathrobes provided!

Breakfast
The sun drenched deck, overlooking the Langeberg mountains, is where guests are served a legendary breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble for your hosts, who go out of their way to ensure that special dietary requests are met, and that no-one leaves the table hungry. Everything is freshly prepared - the oranges squeezed to make juice, fantastic fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, muffins, cheese, cold meats, 'proper' coffee, a choice of teas - all these are just in preparation for David's stunning full English Breakfast - eggs prepared just exactly to your own liking. And - to top all that - you can choose whatever time you would like it!

The Guest Lounge
On cooler days, breakfast is served in the elegant guest lounge, where a log fire is lit and guests can enjoy a glass of wine and lively conversation in the evening.

Garden
While you feast on your sumptuous breakfast, you can enjoy not only the view of the stunning Langeberg mountain range, but also the sensory indigenous garden, which is designed for everyone to enjoy, with wide paths for wheelchair users and fragrances and textures which those with visual impairment can particularly appreciate. The colourful garden is one to which a huge variety of birdlife is attracted, and binoculars and a bird book are always a close at hand to settle curiosity about unusual visitors to the garden!

The Cottage
The delightful cottage has so many extras that you will want to come back again and again to sample them! It is ideal as a base to spend a holiday - with the family or friends - just a few minutes' walk and you are at the base of the Marloth Mountain trails, which you can undertake on foot or by bike - there is a beautiful nine hole golf course also a few minutes walk away. David and Amanda are happy to put together fun packages and days out for you - try their Adrenalin Adventure, Family Fun, Epicurean Experience and / or Wildlife Watching two/three day packages. They will book everything for you - you just have to enjoy yourself. The living area has everything you could want for rainy days and sunny days!TV, Playstation and games, CD player. The open plan space contains a dining area and access to the kitchen which is well equipped with every convenience - coffee maker, microwave, fridge (usually stocked with a welcome bottle of something) cooker, and all the usual bits and pieces. Your own braai and a stock of wood awaits you on the patio.
